Meet our musical director

Scott Casey, has been singing barbershop harmony as a member of the Wayne Chapter since 1985. He has held numerous chapter offices from program vp to president. He became an assistant director in 1992 and was named chorus musical director in 1999.

Scott’s 9-to-5 job is as a training specialist at Wayne State University.

The Casey family appears to have inherited the performing gene, with all four daughters participating in competitive dance, band, orchestra, school plays and school choirs. They keep Scott and his wife, Ann, busy with all their hectic schedules.

Scott says the highlights of his barbershop experience have been performing in the 1987 Hartford, Connecticut International Competition, singing in the chapter’s “Pirate Show” in 1994, and singing lead in his quartet “Treblesome”.

Scott credits his dad, Ken Casey, for bringing him into the barbershop family, and says he wants to sing bass “just like his dad when he grows up”.
